I have been working in the facade industry since 2000. I joined Clarke as a subcontractor in 2011 and became a full-time employee as a project manager in 2012. The family feel and values of the company are what truly appealed to me. Over the years, I've grown in many ways as the company has, picking up numerous skills along the journey.
In my role, I predominantly split my time between current projects, helping project managers complete them successfully, the Clarke way—on time, safely, on budget, meeting clients' needs, and retaining high quality and repeat business. I spend a lot of time in pre-construction, helping to complete PCSAs and more recently staying ahead of compliance with the Building Safety Act. I assist clients and our design team in meeting BSR requirements, getting planning permission, and creating project plans and CPPs while coordinating with local councils, Network Rail, TFL, etc.
Additionally, I help manage our post-completion teams to continue monitoring historical projects. My true passion lies in working on the business rather than in the business, and Clarke has always encouraged its employees to embrace this philosophy. I enjoy identifying the correct characteristics within people for roles and developing team members. I also focus on strategies that give us a competitive edge, whether in research and development, staff well-being, or new logistical ways of delivering projects.
